Under the agreement, VinFast, an auto manufacturing subsidiary of Vingroup, will build a transport service system, including battery rentals and charging stations for electric motorbikes and check-up, maintenance and repair points for automobiles and electric motorcycles.
The two parties will jointly invest in depots on roads and convenience stores to serve owners of VinFast automobiles and other means of transportation.
Besides this, Vingroup and Petrolimex will collaborate on noncash payments, using co-branded means of payments VinID and Petrolimex, in cooperation with a competent financial institution.
Earlier, VinFast on October 25 had clinched a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam Oil Corporation for similar purposes.
These agreements are considered a vital foundation on which VinFast can build an infrastructure system with a variety of functions and utilities to serve all vehicles, especially electric scooters, nationwide.
In the first phase, VinFast will focus on deploying battery charging and leasing stations at Petrolimex and PV Oil facilities and those under the management of Vingroup, such as VinMart+ convenience stores, Vinhomes urban areas and authorized dealers serving Klara electric scooters, which will be launched in the market later in November, and other types of electric vehicles in the future.
By 2020, VinFast plans to run 30,000-50,000 charging points and battery rental stations for electric vehicles across the country.
Moreover, VinFast will also build check-up, maintenance and repair stations; convenience stores; and depots to serve its customers and their vehicles.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Viet Quang, general director of Vingroup, noted that VinFast wanted to offer customers a smart transportation solution and the first ecofriendly system in Vietnam. VinFast’s customers not only experience international standard products but also enjoy high-quality and convenient after-sales services, Quang added.
The chain is expected to contribute to Vietnam’s transport development and benefit the country’s people in the years to come, Quang stressed.
